The Jamaica Tallawahs have kept 7 players, including Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite
22 May, St. John’s (Antigua), West Indies (ANI): Andre Russell, a versatile player from the West Indies, and Carlos Brathwaite are two of the seven players who Jamaica Tallawahs retained on Saturday for the forthcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021.
The Jamaica Tallawahs made their CPL 2021 commitments official. Rovman Powell, Chadwick Walton, and Fidel Edwards, who returned to the CPL in 2020 and impressed with his speed the previous year, have all been kept by the team for the 2021 campaign.
Moreover, the Tallawahs welcomed back left-arm spinner Verasammy Permaul and Ryan Persaud, an ICC Americas participant from the previous year.
“The Tallawahs have 10 spots to fill to complete their squad and these will be announced in the coming weeks,” read a statement on the CPL website.
The organisers announced on Thursday that the 2021 CPL will begin on August 28 and end on September 19.
All 33 of the tournament’s matches will be held at Warner Park in St. Kitts & Nevis this year. This comes after Trinidad and Tobago hosted the CPL with success in 2020. (ANI)
